1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing Vamshavriksha (“the Service”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service.

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically for updates.

2. Description of Service

Vamshavriksha is a free online platform for creating, managing, and sharing family trees. It is designed to help families preserve their heritage and cultural identity.

2a. What Vamshavriksha Does

• Family Trees— Create and manage interactive family trees with detailed member profiles
• Cultural Data— Record gothra, pravara, nakshatra, rashi, and other cultural information
• Sharing— Share your tree with family members via WhatsApp and unique access codes
• Panchangam— View panchangam details and calendar information for family members
• Stories— Preserve family stories and memories within the tree
• Print— Generate printable family tree layouts and family books
• Quiz— Fun quizzes to test your family knowledge

2b. Service Availability

We strive to keep Vamshavriksha available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

3. User Accounts & Access

3a. Tree Creation

To create a family tree, you must provide a valid email address for verification. Upon creation, you will set an admin PIN that grants full control over your tree. To prevent abuse, each email address may create up to 3 trees per day.

3b. Access Levels

• View access— Allows viewing the tree and its member details without making changes
• Edit access— Allows adding, editing, and removing family members (requires the admin PIN)
• View codes— Unique shareable codes that grant view-only access to your tree

3c. Security

You are responsible for keeping your admin PIN and access codes secure. Do not share your admin PIN with anyone you do not trust with full control of your tree. Vamshavriksha is not liable for unauthorized access resulting from shared or compromised credentials.

4. User Content

4a. Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you upload to Vamshavriksha, including names, photos, stories, and cultural data. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

4b. Your Responsibilities

• Right to share— You confirm that you have the right to share any content you upload
• No false content— You agree not to intentionally upload false or misleading information
• No personal info without consent— You must have consent from individuals (or their guardians) before adding their personal information to a tree

4c. Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or is reported by a verified family member. If you wish to have your personal data removed from someone else's tree, please contact us.

5. Acceptable Use

When using Vamshavriksha, you agree not to:

• Create spam or fake trees— Do not create trees for non-existent families or for the purpose of spamming
• Harass others— Do not use the platform to harass, intimidate, or bully any individual
• Access unauthorized trees— Do not attempt to access trees you have not been granted permission to view or edit
• Scrape data— Do not use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform
• Interfere with infrastructure— Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the platform's servers or infrastructure

6. Panchangam & Calendar

Vamshavriksha provides panchangam calculations and calendar data for informational purposes. These calculations are approximate and estimated to be ~95% accurate. They should not be used as the sole basis for important religious or ceremonial decisions.

Please consult qualified priests or pandits for exact muhurtham timings and other precise astrological requirements.

7. Limitation of Liability

Vamshavriksha is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us — which is zero, since Vamshavriksha is free.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Vamshavriksha at any time if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in activity that harms other users or the platform.

You can stop using Vamshavriksha at any time. Your data will not be proactively deleted unless you specifically request deletion by contacting us.
